The biggest hit single of the 1970s spent ten weeks at number one.  If you weren’t alive at the time, then there’s no way to adequately describe how torturous that period truly was.  Yet the deeper I dug in my research for this episode, the more nauseated I became. The Thompson Twins were one of the greatest bands of the early MTV era, pumping out hit after hit while offering an emotional resonance that transcended the typical chart fare. Singer/songwriter Tom Bailey is still very much at it, making vital new music and touring, and he doesn’t shy away from the difficult questions. He’s a terrific interview.
